چکیده
The present study examines the seasonal relationship between land surface temperature (LST) and normalized difference water index (NDWI) on various surfaces in Raipur City of India by using a series Landsat images for four specific seasons since 1991-92. LST is retrieved mono-window algorithm technique. results show that area noticeably affected composition. best correlation (correlation coefficient r = 0.42) NDWI achieved post-monsoon season, followed monsoon season (r 0.33), pre-monsoon 0.25), winter 0.04). There moderate negative -0.49, -0.33, -0.31, -0.25 pre-monsoon, monsoon, post-monsoon, respectively) generated bodies. On green vegetation, this LST-NDWI positive 0.67, 0.43, 0.50, 0.25 respectively). human settlement barren surface, weak 0.24, 0.21, 0.27, 0.15 output research work can be used town planning section any urban agglomeration.

Drought Determination by Using Land Surface Temperature and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index
Today, many places of different locations on Earth especially semi-arid areas face the risk of desertification due to severe drought. However, the very basic data required for the analysis is unavailable for the regions without a meteorological station. In this case, land surface temperature (LST) is derived from a thermal band as an alternative meteorological station’s data. In this research, ...
متن کاملA Comparison of Land Surface Water Mapping Using the Normalized Difference Water Index from TM, ETM+ and ALI
Remote sensing has more advantages than the traditional methods of land surface water (LSW) mapping because it is a low-cost, reliable information source that is capable of making high-frequency and repeatable observations. The normalized difference water indexes (NDWIs), calculated from various band combinations (green, near-infrared (NIR), or shortwave-infrared (SWIR)), have been successfully...
متن کاملImpact of urban land cover change on land surface temperature
The rapid growth in urban population is seen to create a need for the development of more urban infrastructures. In order to meet this need, natural surfaces such as vegetation are been replaced with non-vegetated surfaces such as asphalt and bricks which has the ability to absorb heat and release it later. This change in land cover is seen to increase the land surface temperature. Previous stu...
متن کاملSeasonal variations in the relationship between landscape pattern and land surface temperature in Indianapolis, USA.
This paper intended to examine the seasonal variations in the relationship between landscape pattern and land surface temperature based on a case study of Indianapolis, United States. The integration of remote sensing, GIS, and landscape ecology methods was used in this study. Four Terra's ASTER images were used to derive the landscape patterns and land surface temperatures (LST) in four season...
متن کاملModeling the relationship between land use and surface water quality.
It is widely known that watershed hydrology is dependent on many factors, including land use, climate, and soil conditions. But the relative impacts of different types of land use on the surface water are yet to be ascertained and quantified. This research attempted to use a comprehensive approach to examine the hydrologic effects of land use at both a regional and a local scale. Statistical an...
